Kemardo Bailey, the owner and operator of Coastal Breeze, is a native of the beautiful Island of Jamaica. He was raised in an area known as Brownstown. Kemardo has a passion for food and has always loved to cook for all of his beloved family and his friends. In 2008 Kemardo immigrated to the United States with a dream of one day opening a restaurant. In late 2015 he was able to make that dream come true. Now married, he and his wife Monica have established themselves in Virginia Beach and together have made his dream a success.
Coastal Breeze, an all American restaurant for 13 years, has sold classic American favorites such as 100% all beef hot dogs and fresh cut fries. Kemardo continues the tradition, but has added to the menu a multitude of Caribbean food. During the transition of ownership, in 2015, Kemardo made a decision to turn this quaint spot into a Caribbean/American mix restaurant. Throwing foods together in a fusion to create amazing dishes that bridge the gap between American and Caribbean food. While doing this he also wanted to add authentic Caribbean plates to the menu keeping in mind that he would always continue the American classics for those that have considered it a staple for the past 13 years.
